Narratorial (Purāṇic genealogical narration; specific dialogue speaker not identifiable from this single verse alone)

Concept: Creation unfolds through sanctioned unions; progeny (bahv-apatya) is a cosmic instrument, not merely biological increase.

Application: See family and community responsibilities as dharma when aligned with sattva and restraint; cultivate ‘many offspring’ as ‘many good works’—multiplying virtue rather than ego.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

FAQs

They are identified as the two daughters of Vaiśvānara, mentioned here as becoming consorts of the sage Mārīci.

It presents a genealogical detail of creation-era lineages—linking daughters of Vaiśvānara to the Prajāpati-sage Mārīci and noting abundant progeny.

As a genealogical statement, it primarily emphasizes continuity of cosmic order through lineage (praja/offspring) rather than a direct moral injunction.
