Seorang dwija hendaklah mempersembahkan āhuti menurut tatacara yang benar dalam pitṛ-yajña dan ke dalam api suci; dan jangan berdusta dalam urusan timbangan, kerana neraca itu ditegakkan atas dharma.
Unspecified (narratorial/instructional voice within Adhyaya 48)
Concept: Perform ancestral rites and fire offerings according to rule; never falsify weights—because the balance itself stands on dharma.
Application: Be meticulous in duties to family lineage (care for elders, remembrance rituals) and scrupulously honest in transactions; treat measurement and accounting as sacred trust.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"In a clean courtyard, a dvija pours ghee into a bright, steady sacred fire while a small pitṛ-tarpaṇa vessel rests nearby with darbha grass. Beside him, a merchant’s balance scale gleams—perfectly level—symbolizing dharma; the man’s gaze is firm, refusing any temptation to tip the scale.","primary_figures":["dvija performing homa","symbolic balance scale (tulā)","pitṛs suggested as subtle ancestral silhouettes"],"setting":"domestic yajña-śālā with fire altar, darbha, water pot, and a nearby marketplace scale rendered as a moral emblem","lighting_mood":"golden dawn","color_palette":["flame orange","ghee gold","ivory white","leaf green","bronze"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: dvija offering ghee into agni with gold leaf flames, pitṛ-tarpaṇa vessels and darbha arranged symmetrically; a prominent gold-embellished balance scale perfectly level, haloed as ‘dharma’; rich reds/greens, ornate borders, jewel-like ritual implements.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: dawn courtyard homa with delicate smoke curls, soft hills in distance; finely painted balance scale level on a low platform, lyrical naturalism, cool highlights on bronze, gentle devotional calm.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines—central agni with stylized flames, dvija in ritual posture, pitṛ symbols above as faint forms; tulā drawn large and perfectly horizontal, red/yellow/green palette, temple-wall austerity.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: symbolic composition—agni and tulā framed by lotus borders; intricate floral motifs, deep blue background with gold accents, conch and chakra motifs subtly indicating Viṣṇu as yajña-puruṣa."}

Sandhi Resolution Notes:
It instructs the twice-born to perform offerings properly both in the ancestral rite (pitṛyajña) and into the sacred fire (agni), emphasizing correct procedure (vidhi).
It prohibits falsehood in weighing—i.e., cheating with scales—because the balance (tulā) is regarded as an instrument grounded in dharma.
Ritual correctness must be matched by everyday integrity: dharma is upheld not only in sacrifice but also in honest commerce and truthful conduct.
