FAQs

It instructs the twice-born to perform offerings properly both in the ancestral rite (pitṛyajña) and into the sacred fire (agni), emphasizing correct procedure (vidhi).

It prohibits falsehood in weighing—i.e., cheating with scales—because the balance (tulā) is regarded as an instrument grounded in dharma.

Ritual correctness must be matched by everyday integrity: dharma is upheld not only in sacrifice but also in honest commerce and truthful conduct.
