FAQs

It is a hyperbolic measure of immense duration, expressing an extraordinarily long stay in heaven by counting spans associated with many Indras (cosmic eras symbolically linked to Indra’s reign).

The phrase points to benefit extending beyond the individual—traditionally understood as aiding one’s lineage (ancestors and descendants) or many beings across time through the merit generated by the prescribed act.

It highlights the Purāṇic theme that righteous acts and devotion can yield vast, long-lasting spiritual fruits and can be dedicated for the welfare and upliftment of others.
