B
Bhavānī

FAQs

It prescribes specific charitable gifts—especially a pair of cows, a (golden) white garment, and a cloth-covered vessel—offered with the devotional intention: “May Bhavānī be pleased.”

Bhavānī is a revered name of the Goddess, commonly identified with Pārvatī/Durgā, invoked here as the recipient of devotional satisfaction through dāna (charitable giving).

It emphasizes dāna performed with reverence and intentionality—giving valuable, useful items while explicitly dedicating the act to divine pleasure rather than personal gain.
