FAQs

Payovrata is a vow of restraint centered on consuming only milk (payaḥ) for the vowed period; here, even a one-day observance is praised as spiritually potent.

“Paramaṃ padam” means the supreme state or abode—commonly understood in Purāṇic usage as liberation-oriented attainment and closeness to the highest divine reality.

It teaches that disciplined self-restraint, even for a short duration, can have profound spiritual impact—emphasizing sincerity and purity of observance over mere length or display.
