नमो नारायणायेति मूलमंत्र उदाहृतः । सदर्भपाणिर्विधिना आचांतः प्रयतः शुचिः

namo nārāyaṇāyeti mūlamaṃtra udāhṛtaḥ | sadarbhapāṇirvidhinā ācāṃtaḥ prayataḥ śuciḥ

“Namo Nārāyaṇāya”—demikianlah mūla-mantra diumumkan. Kemudian, dengan memegang rumput kuśa (darbha) di tangan, setelah berācamana menurut aturan, dia tetap berdisiplin dan suci.
