FAQs

Dānavas are a class of Asuras traditionally described as descendants of Danu, often portrayed as opponents of the Devas in Purāṇic narratives.

Śrī commonly denotes prosperity, splendor, auspicious fortune, and is also associated with the goddess Lakṣmī; in context it indicates the principle/personification of fortune being opposed.

It suggests that forces driven by hostility or envy tend to oppose auspiciousness and prosperity; the verse frames conflict around the protection or contestation of auspicious fortune.
