bhīṣma uvāca | kathaṃ tripuruṣājjāto hyarjunaḥ paravīrahā | kathaṃ karṇastu kānīnaḥ sūtajaḥ parikīrtyate
Bhīṣma berkata: Bagaimanakah Arjuna, pembunuh para wira musuh, lahir daripada tiga orang lelaki? Dan bagaimana pula Karṇa disebut sebagai kānīna (anak yang lahir daripada gadis belum bersuami) serta juga sebagai sūta-jā (lahir dalam keturunan sais kereta)?
