शौनक उवाच । कथयस्व महाप्राज्ञ पुत्रहीनो जनो भवेत् । कर्मणा केन वै सूत पुत्रो भवति केन च

śaunaka uvāca | kathayasva mahāprājña putrahīno jano bhavet | karmaṇā kena vai sūta putro bhavati kena ca

Śaunaka berkata: “Wahai Sūta yang amat bijaksana, ceritakanlah: dengan perbuatan apakah seseorang menjadi tanpa putera, dan dengan perbuatan apakah dia memperoleh putera?”
