Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A vow-keeper sits beside a low altar marked with conch and discus symbols, reciting mantras over small ritual cups arranged by tithi. Each vessel is labeled by lunar day—Dvādaśī, Trayodaśī, Caturdaśī—signaling a strict, calendrical rhythm of purification.","primary_figures":["a vrata-observer (vratī)","optional: Vishnu’s emblematic presence (śaṅkha-cakra)","optional: a guiding ācārya"],"setting":"Clean inner courtyard with a ritual platform, copper cups, a water pot, and a hanging lunar calendar scroll.","lighting_mood":"serene pre-noon clarity","color_palette":["copper brown","ivory white","saffron","deep indigo","leaf green"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: a richly ornamented altar with śaṅkha-cakra motifs, the vratī seated in profile chanting mantras, three gleaming cups representing dvādaśī/trayodaśī/caturdaśī; gold leaf highlights on vessels and haloed Vishnu emblem above, saturated reds and greens, temple-arch framing.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: delicate depiction of a quiet courtyard, the vratī holding a small cup while a thin mantra-scroll rests on a stand; cool restrained palette, fine linework, subtle expressions of austerity, minimalistic background with a hint of distant trees.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: stylized ritual arrangement with bold outlines—cups, kalasha, lamp—while the vratī chants; strong red/yellow/green blocks, iconic symmetry, large expressive eyes, sacred geometry borders.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: symbolic rather than literal—three ornate cups in a row beneath a central Vishnu emblem, surrounded by lotus vines and peacocks; deep blue ground with gold floral borders, devotional patterning emphasizing calendrical order."}

FAQs

It lays out a vow (vrata) regimen by lunar days: sipping gomūtra on Dvādaśī, milk on Trayodaśī, and curd on Caturdaśī, each done in a mantra-sanctioned manner.

These are sequential lunar days used to structure vrata observances; the verse indicates a day-by-day discipline rather than a single one-time act.

The emphasis is on disciplined observance—performing prescribed acts with mantra and regularity—highlighting restraint, purity-intent, and adherence to ritual order.
