The Greatness of Hari’s Janmāṣṭamī (Jayantī) Vow

वसिष्ठ उवाच । शृणु राजन्प्रवक्ष्यामि कस्माज्जातो जनार्द्दनः । पृथिव्यां त्रिदिवं त्यक्त्वा भवते कथयाम्यहम्

vasiṣṭha uvāca | śṛṇu rājanpravakṣyāmi kasmājjāto janārddanaḥ | pṛthivyāṃ tridivaṃ tyaktvā bhavate kathayāmyaham

Vasiṣṭha berkata: “Dengarlah, wahai Raja; aku akan menerangkan mengapa dan bagaimana Janārdana dilahirkan. Setelah meninggalkan Tri-diva (alam syurga) dan turun ke bumi, bagaimana Baginda menzahirkan diri—akan aku kisahkan.”
