न पुरा देवविप्रेभ्यः पितृभ्यश्च कदाचन । मिष्टान्नपानमेवापि दत्तं सुमनसा तदा

na purā devaviprebhyaḥ pitṛbhyaśca kadācana | miṣṭānnapānamevāpi dattaṃ sumanasā tadā

Pada masa dahulu, dia tidak pernah sama sekali memberi kepada para dewa, kepada para Brahmana, mahupun kepada para leluhur; bahkan makanan dan minuman manis pun tidak dipersembahkan dengan hati yang rela dan gembira.
