The verse condemns theft of another’s property, maliciously exposing or publicizing others’ faults (slander/denunciation), and adultery—consorting with another man’s wife.
“Niraya-gāminaḥ” means “those who go to niraya (hell),” i.e., people whose actions lead them to painful post-mortem consequences according to karmic ethics.
It teaches restraint in wealth (do not steal), speech (do not malign or expose others’ faults), and sexuality (do not violate marital boundaries), presenting these as serious violations with grave karmic results.
