FAQs

It highlights public bhakti expressed through dance—devotees (Vaiṣṇavas) joyfully moving and dancing in front of the king as part of a devotional procession.

The epithet signals their spiritual status: their purity and devotion make them dear to Viṣṇu, implying that devotion (bhakti) is the basis of divine favor.

It suggests reverence for saintly devotees and the uplifting role of devotion in society—spiritual merit and devotion can lead even political power (the king) to follow or honor dharmic, devotional leadership.
