Dialogue of Wisdom, Meditation, and Discernment
एह्येहि सुमहाभाग मम स्नेहान्महामते । कश्यप उवाच । शांतिक्षमाभ्यां संयुक्तो भार्याभ्यां च समागतः
ehyehi sumahābhāga mama snehānmahāmate | kaśyapa uvāca | śāṃtikṣamābhyāṃ saṃyukto bhāryābhyāṃ ca samāgataḥ
“Marilah, marilah, wahai yang amat beruntung—demi kasih sayangku, wahai resi yang berfikiran agung.” Kaśyapa berkata: “Dengan ditemani dua isterinya, Śānti dan Kṣamā, dia pun tiba.”
Kaśyapa
Concept: True discernment arrives with Śānti (peace) and Kṣamā (forbearance/forgiveness); wisdom is inseparable from gentleness.
Application: When making judgments, pair clarity with patience; cultivate forgiveness as a companion to truth-telling.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: shringara
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"In a serene hermitage, Kaśyapa extends a welcoming hand, his face bright with affectionate respect. Viveka arrives not alone but accompanied by two graceful consorts—Śānti and Kṣamā—who embody peace and forgiveness, their presence cooling the air like moonlight over a still pond.","primary_figures":["Kaśyapa","Viveka (personified)","Śānti (personified)","Kṣamā (personified)"],"setting":"Forest āśrama with thatched huts, a yajña-śālā, flowering trees, and a quiet path leading in.","lighting_mood":"forest dappled","color_palette":["moonstone white","sage green","ochre","rose pink","antique gold"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Kaśyapa in sage attire under a gold-leaf arch, welcoming Viveka; Śānti and Kṣamā as elegant feminine personifications with lotus and water-pot; heavy gold halos, rich red-green textiles, gem-like ornamentation, sacred fire in background.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: gentle forest scene with delicate foliage; Kaśyapa greeting Viveka; Śānti and Kṣamā in soft pastel garments, lyrical naturalism, cool greens and pinks, refined faces, subtle gestures of blessing.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines, Kaśyapa centered, Viveka flanked by Śānti and Kṣamā; stylized trees and temple-lamp motifs; strong red/yellow/green palette, large expressive eyes, mural symmetry.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central trio of Viveka with Śānti and Kṣamā, surrounded by lotus and tulasi borders; decorative cows/peacocks optional as auspicious motifs; deep blue background with gold and white floral filigree, devotional textile richness."}
Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"devotional","suggested_raga":"Durga","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"reverent-soft","sound_elements":["forest breeze","soft bells","crackling lamp flame"]}
Sandhi Resolution Notes: एह्येहि = एहि + एहि (यण्-सन्धि/व्यञ्जन-सन्धि लेखन); स्नेहान्महामते = स्नेहात् + महामते; शांतिक्षमाभ्यां = शान्ति + क्षमाभ्याम् (सन्धि-लेखन);
The verse explicitly marks “Kaśyapa uvāca,” indicating Kaśyapa is the speaker, transitioning the narration into a report of someone’s arrival accompanied by Śānti and Kṣamā.
The repeated invitation “come, come” framed by “out of affection” conveys hospitality and goodwill—an interpersonal dharmic tone that supports respectful reception in sacred or instructive dialogues.
As personified virtues—Peace (Śānti) and Forbearance (Kṣamā)—their naming highlights the ideal moral atmosphere around the arriving figure, reinforcing the Purāṇic preference for virtues embodied in relationships.
