Vena’s Inquiry into Pitṛ-tīrtha: Pippala’s Austerity, the Vidyādhara Boon, and the Crane’s Rebuke of Pride

एकदा तु महातेजाः पिप्पलः पर्यचिंतयत् । विश्ववश्यं भवेत्सर्वं मम दत्तो वरोत्तमः

ekadā tu mahātejāḥ pippalaḥ paryaciṃtayat | viśvavaśyaṃ bhavetsarvaṃ mama datto varottamaḥ

Pada suatu ketika, Pippala yang bercahaya agung berfikir dalam hati: “Dengan anugerah tertinggi yang dikurniakan kepadaku, semoga seluruh dunia tunduk kepada kehendakku.”
