Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A palm-leaf manuscript lies open on a low wooden desk, its final line freshly inked. A learned scribe offers a small lamp and flowers before the manuscript, as if the text itself were a deity, while the air feels hushed with completion and continuity.","primary_figures":["scribe (lekhaka)","anonymous reciter (pāṭhaka)","symbolic lotus-emblem of Padma Purāṇa"],"setting":"quiet gurukula library or temple-side grantha-bhaṇḍāra with stacked manuscripts, inkpot, stylus, and a small altar","lighting_mood":"temple lamp-lit","color_palette":["aged parchment beige","lamp-flame amber","ink black","vermillion red","leaf green"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: a sacred manuscript on a pedestal treated like an icon, gold leaf halo around a lotus emblem, rich crimson backdrop, ornate borders, tiny oil lamps and flower offerings, gem-studded ornamentation framing the colophon line, South Indian temple ambience.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: intimate indoor scene of a scribe completing the final line on a palm-leaf manuscript, delicate brushwork, soft ochres and cool greys, refined faces, small brass lamp glow, lyrical stillness, minimal architecture with carved wooden shelves.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold black outlines, flat temple-wall composition of a manuscript altar with lamp and flowers, stylized lotus motif, warm red and yellow ground, green accents, large expressive eyes on the reciter figure, sacred geometry border.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central lotus medallion representing Padma Purāṇa, surrounded by manuscript-scroll motifs, floral borders, deep indigo field with gold highlights, small lamps and garlands arranged symmetrically, devotional textile aesthetic."}

सुकलाचरित्रेष्टपञ्चाशत्तमः treated as a compound ordinal qualifying अध्यायः.

FAQs

This is a colophon (ending formula) that marks the close of a chapter, identifying the text (Padma Purāṇa), section (Bhūmi-khaṇḍa), sub-episode (Vena-upākhyāna), and the chapter number (58).

No character is speaking; it is a scribal/narratorial closure line used to organize and authenticate the chapter division.

They provide stable anchors for referencing (khanda, episode, chapter number), help reconcile manuscript and edition variants, and improve search and navigation in digital editions.
