Unspecified (a devotional eulogy/namaskāra verse within the narrative context of Bhūmi-khaṇḍa)

Concept: The Supreme impels beings toward sat (truth) and restrains from asat (untruth); He is the seat of wisdom and the very embodiment of the Veda, therefore the ultimate purifier.

Application: Practice daily viveka: before acting, ask ‘sat or asat?’; study a small portion of śāstra, and align speech and conduct with truthfulness and purity.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A serene, luminous figure of Hari sits as the living Veda, with four Vedas personified as radiant manuscripts orbiting like gentle constellations. Streams of light flow from His heart into the minds of seekers, guiding them toward sat while shadowy asat tendencies recede into the background.","primary_figures":["Vishnu/Narayana (as Veda-svarūpa)","personified Vedas (optional as sages or glowing texts)","seekers/sages in contemplation"],"setting":"A quiet hermitage library (grantha-gṛha) blending into a cosmic mandala of scriptural light; kusa mats, palm-leaf manuscripts, incense.","lighting_mood":"golden dawn","color_palette":["pale gold","saffron","deep blue","parchment beige","emerald green"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Vishnu enthroned with gold leaf aura, palm-leaf manuscripts and Vedic symbols rendered with embossed gold, sages seated below with folded hands, rich red-green background, ornate arch and floral borders, gem-like highlights on manuscript edges and ornaments.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: tranquil ashram scene with delicate manuscripts, Vishnu as a calm luminous presence, soft dawn wash, refined faces of meditating sages, subtle mountain-like clouds, cool greens and blues balanced by warm gold highlights.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: Vishnu as Veda-svarūpa with bold outlines, manuscripts stylized as glowing panels, strong saffron-red-yellow palette, symmetrical composition like a temple wall panel, decorative borders of lotus and script motifs.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central Vishnu surrounded by lotus rosettes and manuscript motifs, intricate floral borders, deep blue ground with gold calligraphic patterns, sages arranged symmetrically, peacocks and lotuses framing the ‘Veda as purifier’ theme."}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: सदसच्चोदनायैव = सत् + असत् + चोदनाय + एव (त् + अ → द, सच्चोदना-रूप); नमोनमः = नमः + नमः.

FAQs

The verse praises the supreme sacred principle (often understood as the Lord or ultimate Reality) as identical with the Veda in essence—i.e., the source, content, and living embodiment of Vedic truth.

It implies an inner divine prompting toward sat (truth, virtue, right action) and away from asat (falsehood, vice, unrighteous action), aligning conscience and conduct with dharma.

That spiritual progress involves purification—of intention, speech, and action—and that remembrance, reverence, and alignment with Vedic truth are presented as purifying forces.
