Marks of the Debt-Bound/Enemy Son, Filial Dharma, Detachment, and the Durvāsā–Dharma Episode

जातमात्रः प्रियं कुर्याद्बाल्ये लालनक्रीडनैः । वयः प्राप्य प्रियं कुर्यान्मातृपित्रोरनन्तरम्

jātamātraḥ priyaṃ kuryādbālye lālanakrīḍanaiḥ | vayaḥ prāpya priyaṃ kuryānmātṛpitroranantaram

Sejak saat kelahiran, hendaklah anak dibuat gembira; pada masa kanak-kanak melalui asuhan penuh kasih dan permainan. Apabila telah dewasa, sesudah itu hendaklah dia menyenangkan hati ibu dan ayah.
