कुंजल उवाच । पुरा देवैर्महादैत्यैः कृत्वा सौहार्दमुत्तमम् । ममंथुः सागरं क्षीरममृतार्थं समुद्यताः

Kuṁjala berkata: Pada zaman dahulu, para Dewa dan Dānava yang gagah, setelah memeterai perjanjian persahabatan yang luhur, pun bersiap mengaduk Samudra Susu demi memperoleh amṛta, nektar keabadian.
