Sandhi Resolution Notes: आयुष्मंतो नराः → आयुष्मन्तः नराः; नरास्तेन → नराः तेन; प्रवदंति → प्रवदन्ति
It portrays righteous action as having a double role: tāraka (that which carries one across danger/sin/suffering) and pālaka (that which preserves and safeguards one’s life and well-being).
It states that through such vigilant, protective karma, people become āyuṣmān (long-lived) and then live with sukha—expressing themselves and moving through life with ease and contentment.
The verse teaches that one’s own conscientious, “awake” conduct is a form of protection—ethical action is not merely duty but an active safeguard that sustains and uplifts life.
