Narada (in the Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that tīrtha-snānā (sacred bathing) combined with heartfelt devotion in worship—here, Śiva-pūjā at Vilepaka during Caitra’s bright phase—functions as a purifying practice that removes accumulated pāpa (sin).
The verse makes bhakti the decisive element: bathing is performed, but liberation from sin is explicitly tied to worshiping Śiva “with devotion,” showing that inner reverence completes the external rite.
Kalpa (ritual procedure) and Jyotiṣa (lunar calendrics) are implied: it specifies the timing (Caitra, bright fortnight) and the prescribed act (tīrtha-snānā and pūjā) as a rule-based observance.
