देव देवमनाद्यंतममेयं जगतः पतिम् । आराधितुं वै प्रतिमां करोमीति मतिर्मम ॥ ४३ ॥
deva devamanādyaṃtamameyaṃ jagataḥ patim | ārādhituṃ vai pratimāṃ karomīti matirmama || 43 ||
“Untuk menyembah Dewa segala dewa—tanpa awal dan tanpa akhir, tak terukur, Tuhan alam semesta—tekadku ialah: ‘Sesungguhnya aku akan membentuk sebuah pratima (arca suci) untuk pemujaan-Nya.’”

It frames pratimā-ārādhana as a deliberate vow of devotion: the finite devotee approaches the infinite (anādi–ananta, ameya) Lord through a focused, consecrated form for worship.
Bhakti here begins with saṅkalpa (resolve): the devotee chooses a concrete practice—making and worshiping a sacred image—so the mind can steadily adore the transcendent Lord as Jagatpati.
The verse points to ritual application (kalpa/ācāra): establishing a pratimā for worship implies prescribed procedures—selection, preparation, and worship-steps—rather than a purely abstract contemplation.
