Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It introduces the Kashi-centered Gaṅgā-māhātmya, framing Vārāṇasī as a tīrtha where Gaṅgā’s sanctity yields both immediate welfare (bhukti) and ultimate release (mukti).
By praising Gaṅgā at Vārāṇasī as “supreme” and fruit-giving, the verse encourages श्रद्धा (faith) and reverential engagement with a sacred tīrtha—an accessible devotional practice that supports purification and God-oriented living.
No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; it instead signals tīrtha-dharma—practical pilgrimage orientation centered on place-based merit (māhātmya) and its promised results.
