Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 9

गङ्गामाहात्म्य — The Greatness of the Gaṅgā

सत्सङ्गतिः परामृद्धिं ददाति हि नृणां सदा । इहामुत्र च विप्रेन्द्र सन्तः पूज्यतमास्ततः ॥ ९ ॥

satsaṅgatiḥ parāmṛddhiṃ dadāti hi nṛṇāṃ sadā | ihāmutra ca viprendra santaḥ pūjyatamāstataḥ || 9 ||

Sesungguhnya, pergaulan dengan orang saleh (satsanga) sentiasa menganugerahkan kemakmuran tertinggi kepada manusia—di dunia ini dan di alam sana. Maka, wahai yang terbaik antara brāhmaṇa, para santo itulah yang paling layak dihormati.
