Bhakti-Śraddhā-Ācāra-Māhātmya and the Commencement of the Mārkaṇḍeya Narrative

परिश्रियाभितत्पानां दम्भाचाररतात्मनाम् । मृषा तु कुर्वतां कर्म तेषां दूरतरो हरिः ॥ १५ ॥

pariśriyābhitatpānāṃ dambhācāraratātmanām | mṛṣā tu kurvatāṃ karma teṣāṃ dūrataro hariḥ || 15 ||

Bagi mereka yang hangus oleh kesusahan duniawi namun tetap terpaut pada tingkah laku munafik, dan melakukan perbuatan dengan tipu daya, Hari (Viṣṇu) tetap sangat jauh daripada mereka.
