The Greatness of Viṣṇu
Viṣṇor Māhātmya
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It declares that life’s true success (kṛtārthatā) is attained by surrendering to the Supreme who supports all beings, originates all creation, and dwells within all as the antaryāmin.
Bhakti here is expressed as prapatti (taking refuge): wholehearted dependence on Vishnu/Paramatman, recognizing Him as both transcendent (vibhu) and immanent (antaryāmin).
No specific Vedanga technique is taught in this verse; it emphasizes Vedantic doctrine—understanding the antaryāmin and cultivating śaraṇāgati as the practical spiritual discipline.
