FAQs

It introduces a concise upadeśa on the “cause” of saṃsāra’s destruction, stressing that liberation is tied to inner readiness—self-discipline and purification—without which the liberating means remains difficult to attain.

While bhakti is not named here, the verse frames liberation as dependent on sādhana and self-mastery; in Narada Purana’s broader teaching, such inner discipline supports steady devotion to Bhagavān and makes bhakti fruitful rather than merely emotional.

No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is sādhana-oriented—cultivating ātma-niyama (self-restraint) as a prerequisite for receiving and applying liberating instruction.
