prakṛtiḥ kṣobhamāpannā puruṣākhye jagadgurau | mahānprādurabhūddhuddhistato'haṃ samavarttata || 31 ||
Apabila Prakṛti digerakkan dalam hadapan Guru Alam yang dikenali sebagai Puruṣa, maka Mahat (Prinsip Agung) pun terserlah; daripadanya lahir Buddhi (akal budi), dan daripada Buddhi, aku—ahaṃkāra, rasa “aku”—terjadi.
