Setelah berjaga semalam suntuk (jāgara), hendaklah diatur semula pemujaan; dan hendaklah juga diberikan kepada seorang brāhmaṇa satu sukatan āḍhaka susu yang amat unggul.
Narada (in instruction to the Sanatkumara tradition, within vrata-vidhi discourse)
Vrata: Śrīdhara-vrata (contextual continuation)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It links three pillars of vrata practice—jāgaraṇa (wakeful vigilance), renewed pūjā (devotional worship), and dāna (charity)—showing that devotion is completed by disciplined observance and generous giving.
Bhakti is expressed not only through worship but also through sustained remembrance (night vigil) and service to the dharmic community (gift to a brāhmaṇa), turning personal devotion into a lived, ethical practice.
Ritual procedure and measurement are implied: the use of a specific unit (āḍhaka) reflects practical discipline in karmakāṇḍa-style observance, aligning with traditional ritual exactness associated with Vedāṅga-informed practice.
