त्यजन्तो पतितान्बन्धून्दण्ड्यानुत्तमसाहसम् । पिता हि पतितः कामं न तु माता कदाचन ॥ १८ ॥
tyajanto patitānbandhūndaṇḍyānuttamasāhasam | pitā hi patitaḥ kāmaṃ na tu mātā kadācana || 18 ||
Sesiapa yang meninggalkan kaum kerabatnya yang telah jatuh (berdosa/terbuang) yang layak dihukum, maka dia melakukan kesalahan yang paling berat. Kerana seorang bapa boleh, oleh keadaan, menjadi jatuh; tetapi seorang ibu tidak pernah demikian.
