Graha–Ketu–Utpāta Lakṣaṇas: Solar/Lunar Omens, Comets, Eclipses, and Calendar Rules
मेषप्रवेशे सेनानीः कर्कटे सस्यपो भवेत् । समोद्यधीश्वरः सूर्यो मध्यमश्चोत्तमो विधुः ॥ २ ॥
meṣapraveśe senānīḥ karkaṭe sasyapo bhavet | samodyadhīśvaraḥ sūryo madhyamaścottamo vidhuḥ || 2 ||
Apabila Matahari memasuki Meṣa (Aries), ditandakan munculnya seorang panglima atau pemimpin bala tentera; apabila (Matahari memasuki) Karkaṭa (Kanser), bangkitlah seorang penguasa tanaman dan hasil bumi. Matahari menjadi tuan atas samudera, sedangkan Bulan pada mulanya sederhana kekuatannya lalu menjadi unggul, paling membawa tuah.
Narada (teaching in a Vedanga/astrological context, traditionally within dialogue with Sanatkumara)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It frames worldly events (leadership, agriculture, maritime power) as time-conditioned outcomes, encouraging dharmic governance aligned with cosmic order (ṛta) rather than ego-driven action.
Indirectly: by showing that results fluctuate with time and celestial conditions, it supports the bhakti outlook of relying on the Divine beyond changing worldly fortunes, while still acting responsibly.
Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa: interpreting saṅkrānti (solar ingress) as a mundane-astrology indicator for rulers, harvest prosperity, and relative prominence/strength of luminaries (Sūrya and Chandra).
