अनुदात्ता हलंतेषु धातवो द्व्यधिकं शतम् । चाद्या निपाता गवयः प्राद्या दिग्देशकालजाः ॥ ८३ ॥
anudāttā halaṃteṣu dhātavo dvyadhikaṃ śatam | cādyā nipātā gavayaḥ prādyā digdeśakālajāḥ || 83 ||
Dalam kalangan akar yang berakhir dengan konsonan, aksennya ialah anudātta (rendah). Akar kata kerja jumlahnya sedikit melebihi dua ratus. Kata tak berubah bermula dengan ca-, dan kumpulan yang disebut ‘gavaya’ bermula dengan pra-—lahir daripada (ungkapan) arah, tempat dan waktu.
