गोनांचापरिह्रवृत्ताश्चातुरिर्ग्रसितादिका । पश्येदधद्ब्रभूथापि प्रमिणांतित्यवीवृधत् ॥ १४ ॥
gonāṃcāparihravṛttāścāturirgrasitādikā | paśyedadhadbrabhūthāpi pramiṇāṃtityavīvṛdhat || 14 ||
Walaupun kata-kata tampak terpesong—akibat putaran ungkapan yang tidak teratur, suku kata yang tertelan, atau kerosakan lain—hendaklah tetap dikenali maksud yang dituju; kerana ukuran (irama) dan makna dasarnya tetap ada, meski sebutan pembaca kelihatan cacat.
