Vyākaraṇa-saṅgraha: Pada–Vibhakti–Kāraka–Lakāra–Samāsa
अन्यार्थे तु बहुव्रीहौ ग्रामः प्राप्तोदको द्विज । पंचगू रूपवद्भार्यो मध्याह्नः ससुतादिकः ॥ ९४ ॥
anyārthe tu bahuvrīhau grāmaḥ prāptodako dvija | paṃcagū rūpavadbhāryo madhyāhnaḥ sasutādikaḥ || 94 ||
Namun apabila majmuk bahuvrīhi membawa makna selain daripada unsur literalnya, wahai yang dua kali lahir, ia menandakan: “kampung yang telah memperoleh air,” “orang yang memiliki lima ekor lembu,” “orang yang mempunyai isteri yang jelita,” dan “tengah hari beserta unsur pengiringnya (seperti matahari di puncak).”
