Vyākaraṇa-saṅgraha: Pada–Vibhakti–Kāraka–Lakāra–Samāsa
बुद्धिभक्षार्थयोः शब्दकर्मकाणां निजेच्छया । प्रयोज्य कर्मण्यन्येषां ण्यंतानां लादयो मताः ॥ ८७ ॥
buddhibhakṣārthayoḥ śabdakarmakāṇāṃ nijecchayā | prayojya karmaṇyanyeṣāṃ ṇyaṃtānāṃ lādayo matāḥ || 87 ||
Bagi kata kerja yang bermakna ‘menyebabkan mengetahui’ atau ‘menyebabkan makan’, serta kata kerja yang mengambil objek berupa ujaran, bentuk kausatif (ṇyanta) boleh digunakan menurut kehendak sendiri. Dan bagi kata kerja lain juga, akhiran la- (la-ādi) difahami terpakai pada bentuk kausatif itu apabila digunakan dalam erti menyuruh orang lain melakukan sesuatu perbuatan.
