Advaita
ब्राह्मण उवाच । इत्युक्तः सत्वरस्तस्य चरणावभिवंद्य सः । निदाधः प्राह भगवन्नाचार्यस्त्वमृभुर्मम् ॥ ८३ ॥
brāhmaṇa uvāca | ityuktaḥ satvarastasya caraṇāvabhivaṃdya saḥ | nidādhaḥ prāha bhagavannācāryastvamṛbhurmam || 83 ||
Brahmana itu berkata: Setelah ditegur demikian, Nidādha segera bersujud di kaki baginda lalu berkata, “Wahai Yang Diberkati, engkaulah guruku—sesungguhnya engkau sendiri ialah Ṛbhu.”
Brāhmaṇa (narrator/relator of the dialogue)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It highlights the essential Moksha-Dharma attitude of humility: the seeker bows to the realized teacher and recognizes the guru as the living embodiment of wisdom and lineage.
Through reverential surrender—bowing to the teacher’s feet and addressing him as “Bhagavan”—the disciple practices devotion expressed as guru-bhakti, which supports inner purification and readiness for liberating knowledge.
The verse emphasizes ācārya-upāsanā (reverence to the teacher), a practical dharmic discipline foundational for śāstra study—supporting correct transmission of teachings, including Vedāṅga-based learning (e.g., vyākaraṇa and śikṣā) under a qualified guru.
