It identifies Vyāna as the vital current pervading the body—especially the joints—supporting integrated movement and circulation, which is essential for yogic awareness of prāṇa as a step toward mokṣa.
While primarily yogic/physiological, it supports bhakti-sādhana by refining body–breath awareness; steadiness of prāṇa (including Vyāna) helps stabilize the mind for sustained remembrance and worship of the Lord.
It reflects a technical, śāstric classification used in yogic instruction (often aligned with śikṣā/prāṇic discipline and upāsanā methods), giving a precise mapping of prāṇa functions for practice and teaching.
