Adhyaya 89The Wrath of Shumbha and Nishumbha and the Fall of Nishumbha

तस्य निष्क्रामतो देवी प्रहस्य स्वनवत्ततः ।

शिरश्चिच्छेद खड्गेन ततो 'सावपतद्भुवि ॥

tasya niṣkrāmato devī prahasya svanavattataḥ | śiraś ciccheda khaḍgena tato 'sāv apatat bhuvi ||

Tatkala dia muncul, Sang Dewi tertawa nyaring bergema, lalu memenggal kepalanya dengan pedang; kemudian dia rebah ke tanah.
