Adhyaya 88 — The Manifestation of the Matrikas and the Slaying of Raktabija
ततो देवोशरीरात्तु विनिष्क्रान्तातिभीषणा ।
चण्डिकाशक्तिरत्युग्रा शिवाशतनिनादिनी ॥
tato devośarīrāttu viniṣkrāntātibhīṣaṇā /
caṇḍikāśaktiratyugrā śivāśataninādinī
Kemudian, dari tubuh dewa itu muncul suatu kuasa yang paling menggerunkan—Śakti Caṇḍikā yang amat ganas—mengaum dengan bunyi menggelegar seperti seratus Śiva.

When disorder peaks, the remedy may appear ‘terrifying’ yet is ultimately protective. The Purana normalizes fierce compassion: violence here is framed as dharma’s surgery, not cruelty.
