Mārkaṇḍeya berkata: Wahai yang mulia, Saṃjñā—puteri Viśvakarman—menjadi isteri Mārtaṇḍa (Dewa Surya). Daripadanya, Bhānu (Surya) memperanakkan zuriat.
The Purāṇa grounds cosmic governance (Manu) in a sacred genealogy: social and cosmic order are traced back to luminous, intelligible principles symbolized by the Sun.
Vaṃśa/vaṃśānucarita: it introduces the lineage (Solar line) that produces Vaivasvata Manu.
Saṃjñā (‘cognition/recognition’) joined to the Sun suggests that lawful order arises when illumination (Sūrya) is paired with right perception (saṃjñā).
