Adhyaya 53 — Rudrasarga and the Measure of the Manvantaras: Svayambhuva Manu, Priyavrata’s Line, and the Seven Dvipas
द्विधा कृत्वा तयोर्वर्षं पुष्करे संन्यवेशयत् । भव्यस्य पुत्राः सप्तासन्नामतस्तान्निबोध मे ॥
dvidhā kṛtvā tayor varṣaṃ puṣkare saṃnyaveśayat | bhavyasya putrāḥ saptāsan nāmatas tān nibodha me ||
Setelah membahagikan varṣa itu kepada dua, baginda menegakkannya di Puṣkara. Bhavya mempunyai tujuh orang putera—ketahuilah nama-nama mereka daripadaku.

The verse frames geography as ordered through lineage and lawful settlement: regions (varṣas) are not random, but structured through progeny and governance, reflecting a dharmic ideal of orderly habitation.
Primarily within Sarga/Pratisarga-style cosmography and Vamśa (genealogical listing), since it links territorial divisions to dynastic descendants.
‘Division into two’ and ‘establishment’ can be read symbolically as the differentiation of undivided space into habitable, nameable domains—cosmos becoming intelligible through classification and naming.
