Adhyaya 23 — Ashvatara’s Vow for Madalasa and the Bestowal of Musical Science by Sarasvati
तस्मादहं तथा यत्नं करिष्ये पुत्रकावितः ।
तपश्चर्यां समास्थाय यथैतत् साध्यतेऽचिरात् ॥
tasmād ahaṁ tathā yatnaṁ kariṣye putrakāv itaḥ | tapaś-caryāṁ samāsthāya yathaitat sādhyate 'cirāt ||
Oleh itu, didorong oleh kamu, wahai anak-anakku, aku akan berusaha sedemikian; dengan mengambil amalan tapa (pertapaan), agar hal ini terlaksana tanpa berlengah.

When ordinary means are inadequate, dharmic resolve turns to tapas—disciplined self-transformation—as a legitimate Purāṇic method to reach higher ends.
