Adhyaya 22 — Kuvalayashva’s Death through Daitya-Deceit and Madalasa’s Self-Immolation

पुत्रावूचतुः एकमुक्तस्ततस्तेन स ममज्ज नदीजले ।
ररक्ष सो 'पि तस्यैव मायाविहितमाश्रमम् ॥
Transliteration
putrāvūcatuḥ ekamuktastatastena sa mamajja nadījale | rarakṣa so 'pi tasyaiva māyāvihitamāśramam ||
Translation
Kedua-dua putera itu berkata demikian; kemudian, setelah satu ucapan dilafazkan, dia terjun ke dalam air sungai. Dia juga melindungi pertapaan itu sendiri, yang telah dibentuk oleh kuasa maya (sihir).
