Dharma is safeguarded by both inner sincerity (nirvyalīka-citta) and outer protection (staying near the āśrama). The verse links moral purity with social trust.
Ākhyāna (supporting narrative). It is not cosmology or manvantara data, but a dharma-illustrating incident embedded in the Purāṇic flow.
‘Staying near the āśrama’ suggests the protective perimeter of sattva around tapas: when sincerity is present, protective forces (human or subtle) naturally ‘station’ themselves nearby.
