तेन ता निर्जिता गाव: कुरवश्च पराजिता: । तस्य तत् कर्म वीरस्य न मया तात तत् कृतम्,उसीने उन गौओंको जीता है और कौरवोंको भी परास्त किया है। पिताजी! यह सब उसी वीरका कर्म है। मैंने कुछ नहीं किया है
tena tā nirjitā gāvaḥ kuravaś ca parājitāḥ | tasya tat karma vīrasya na mayā tāta tat kṛtam |
Uttara berkata: “Oleh dialah lembu-lembu itu diperoleh kembali, dan kaum Kuru ditewaskan. Ayahanda, perbuatan itu adalah karya wira itu seorang; beta tidak melakukan apa-apa.”
उत्तर उवाच
The verse highlights ethical speech and humility: Uttara refuses false credit and attributes the victory to the true hero, aligning with dharma through truthful acknowledgment of merit.
After the encounter in which the cattle are regained and the Kurus are routed, Uttara reports to his father that the success was achieved by the unnamed hero (contextually Arjuna in disguise), not by Uttara himself.
