Śamī-vṛkṣe śastra-nidhāna and Entry into Virāṭa’s Capital (शमीवृक्षे शस्त्रनिधानम्)
खडगांश्न दीप्तान् दीर्घाश्न॒ कलापांश्व महाधनान् | विपाठान क्षुरधारांश्व धनुर्भिनिदधु: सह
khaḍgāṃś ca dīptān dīrghāṃś ca kalāpāṃś ca mahādhanān | vipāṭān kṣuradhārāṃś ca dhanurbhir nidadhuḥ saha ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Mereka meletakkan bersama-sama, di sisi busur mereka, pelbagai senjata—pedang yang berkilau, tabung anak panah yang panjang, persenjataan besar yang mahal, serta alat bermata tajam setajam pisau cukur—lalu menyimpannya dengan cermat sebagai sebahagian daripada persiapan rahsia mereka. Adegan itu menonjolkan pengekangan yang berdisiplin: walau dalam buangan, kuasa tetap dikawal dan hanya digunakan apabila dharma menuntutnya.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even rightful strength must be governed by discipline: weapons and power are to be held in reserve and employed only in accordance with dharma, not impulse.
The characters are depositing and arranging their weapons—swords, quivers, sharp implements, and bows—indicating careful concealment and readiness during the Virāṭa-period of incognito living.
