अथवा कुज्जरं मत्तमेक एव चरन् वने । अनडूकुशं समारुहय नगरं गन्तुमिच्छसि,अथवा वनमें अकेले घूमते हुए तुम बिना अंकुशके ही मतवाले हाथीकी पीठपर बैठकर नगरमें जाना चाहते हो
athavā kuñjaraṁ mattam eka eva caran vane | anaḍūkuśaṁ samāruhya nagaraṁ gantum icchasi ||
“Atau, berkeliaran seorang diri di rimba, engkau mahu menaiki gajah mengamuk tanpa penggoad (ankus), lalu menunggang terus masuk ke kota?”
कृप उवाच
Power or bold action must be governed by restraint and proper means; acting without control (like riding a maddened elephant without a goad) endangers both the agent and the community.
Kr̥pa challenges someone’s intention with a sharp metaphor, implying that the proposed course is rash—like taking an uncontrollable force from the wild into a populated city without any instrument of control.
