कृपवाक्यं तथा नीत्युपदेशः
Kṛpa’s Counsel and a Discourse on Statecraft
तत्र नाहं तथा मन्ये यथायमितरो जन:
tatra nāhaṃ tathā manye yathāyam itaro janaḥ
“Di sana, aku tidak menyangka halnya seperti yang disangka orang biasa ini. Pada pandanganku, pemahamannya bukanlah ukuran yang benar bagi apa yang sebenarnya terjadi.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
One should not accept a common or superficial opinion as decisive; careful discernment is required, and the speaker signals a more accurate understanding than that of an ordinary observer.
Vaiśampāyana, as narrator, interjects a corrective judgment: he rejects the view attributed to an ‘ordinary person’ and indicates that the situation should be understood differently than common assumption.
