तुड्गकारण्यमासाद्य ब्रह्मचारी जितेन्द्रिय: । वेदानध्यापयत्‌ तत्र ऋषि: सारस्वत: पुरा,तुंगकारण्यमें जाकर ब्रह्मचर्यका पालन करते हुए इन्द्रियोंकों अपने वशमें रखे। प्राचीनकालमें वहाँ सारस्वत ऋषिने अन्य ऋषियोंको वेदोंका अध्ययन कराया था

Tuṅgakāraṇyam āsādya brahmacārī jitendriyaḥ | Vedān adhyāpayat tatra ṛṣiḥ sārasvataḥ purā ||

Setibanya di rimba Tuṅga, dia hidup sebagai brahmacārin, menaklukkan indera dan menguasainya. Pada zaman purba, di sana resi Sārasvata pernah mengajarkan Veda kepada para resi yang lain.
